ESDO – Environmental and Sustainable Development Office Established in 2017, ESDO operates as a leading environmental consultancy studio in the Albanian market. Its primary mission is to promote sustainable development while preserving environmental and natural values. The organization boasts a dynamic team of environmental engineers and multidisciplinary professionals with advanced expertise in environmental science.
In response to the country’s ongoing development, ESDO has played a pivotal role in assisting private investors in complying with environmental legislation and meeting governmental administrative requirements. Furthermore, the organization has actively contributed to capacity building by organizing training sessions and workshops focused on environmental protection and sustainable practices.

Emanuela Arifi
Environmental Expert
Ms. Emanuela Arifi is an experienced environmental expert with a strong background in environmental science, engineering, and finance. She holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science and Technology, as well as a degree in Agro-environmental Engineering from the Agricultural University of Tirana. Additionally, she earned a degree in Finance - Accounting from the same institution. Currently serving as the Administrator and Senior Environmental Expert at the Environmental and Sustainable Development Office (ESDO), Ms. Arifi leads and contributes to numerous projects related to Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). She has played key roles in preparing SEA reports for Albania’s major strategic policies, such as waste management, energy, and non-food industry sectors. Her career includes prior roles as an Environmental Specialist at the State Inspectorate of Environment and Forests and positions at the Public Health Directorate of Tirana. Ms. Arifi is proficient in English, Italian, and German, and skilled in Microsoft Office tools. Her dedication to sustainable development and environmental protection has established her as a key contributor to both national and international environmental initiatives.

Ivon Përtafi
Environmental Specialist
Ivon Përtafi is an emerging environmental engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Tirana and currently pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering, specializing in Energy. She has professional experience as an Environmental Specialist at the Environmental and Sustainable Development Office (ESDO) since April 2024. Ivon has participated in significant environmental projects, including a professional internship at the Directorate of Nature and Forests within Albania’s Ministry of Tourism and Environment. She is fluent in both English and Italian and actively engaged in youth climate initiatives like the Riclima Academy.

Greta Malaj
Environmental Specialist
Greta Malaj is an Environmental Specialist and Junior Environmental Consultant with over six years of professional experience in environmental management, impact assessment, and policy development. She holds degrees in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering and Environmental Biotechnology, complemented by a strong academic foundation in Biotechnology. Greta’s expertise spans Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), integrated waste and water management, and biodiversity planning. She has collaborated extensively with national institutions, EU-funded initiatives, and international partners, contributing to the alignment of Albania’s environmental practices with European Union standards. Her professional track record includes work with the National Agency of Waste Economy under the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the Environmental and Sustainable Development Office (ESDO), and leading private sector actors in energy, waste, and infrastructure. Greta is also highly skilled in drafting environmental and social management plans, policy papers, technical opposition reports, and public consultation documentation, ensuring both compliance with legislation and active stakeholder engagement.

Loran Luzati
Environmental Specialist
Loran Luzati is currently interning with the team as he continues to grow professionally in the field of Public Health. He holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Public Health, which have equipped him with a strong foundation in health policy, research, and community health initiatives. He is passionate about improving health outcomes through evidence-based strategies and collaborative approaches. This internship is allowing him to apply his academic knowledge in a practical setting and contribute meaningfully to the organization's mission.
